Commercial Masonry Estimator

You will be responsible for overseeing the build-out of our clients Masonry’s Commercial Construction Department. As the Construction Commercial Estimator, you will collect and analyze all applicable information from commercial leads to calculating construction costs and present company bids. This includes drafting a scope of service proposal, determining a project workflow, calculating materials, estimating labor costs, creating client accounts, tracking all open bids, and following up as needed to close bids. This includes creating a materials list and drafting change orders as needed. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct project walkthroughs with clients & meticulously intake project scope details
  • Prepare takeoffs from plan sets and estimate cost of jobs
  • Present detailed bids (including written scope of work) for submission
  • Track all open bids and follow up as needed to close leads
  • Attend weekly meetings with Production Team to review closed bids and implement a strategy to staff all commercial jobs accordingly
  • Perform daily site visits to monitor the quality and accuracy of work on commercial construction sites
  • Enforce job site safety and ensure production deadlines are met
  • Draft change orders as required
  • Perform project walkthroughs with foremen and crews to ensure the scope of work is clear for all employees on site
  • Coordinate with Foreman and Project Manager to discuss project goals, roadblocks, and alterations in project scopes
  • Coordinate with all clients to address any/all project concerns as well as to perform final project walkthroughs to ensure customer sign off on all work

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of in-field masonry and concrete experience (in both commercial and residential sectors)
  • 5+ years of managerial experience
  • OSHA 10 Certification (required) & OSHA 30 Certification (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Building & Safety Inspections, and all OSHA Safety Standards
  • Ability to drive machinery (Bobcat, Backhoe, Excavator)
  • Computer proficiency 
  • Valid Driver’s License and Vehicle
  • Willing to spend long hours on the road every day
  • Expert knowledge of the trade, including block, brick, stone, stucco, concrete, tile, grading, machine work, precast, repointing, drainage, waterproofing, and blueprints.
